Technology consultancy firm donates 800 hours of time this week to schools and projects in the Kawerau community.
A team of over a hundred technology professionals are heading to Kawerau to work with local businesses, staff and students of Tarawera High School and community projects alongside Kawerau Life Konnect.
Viv Baartman, Davanti’s Head of Design and Experience says: “This is a great opportunity for us to give something back to New Zealand and specifically people in Kawerau. We spend every day working with businesses and it will be fantastic to bring the whole company together for two days to do something a little different and support community projects.”
During their stay, the Davanti team will be at Tarawera High School working with Year 7 to 13 students to build rockets as a taster of careers opportunities in this field. Tarawera High School’s Senior Leadership team says: “It is fantastic for our students to have the consultants from Davanti spend time with us. We can be often forgotten in rural New Zealand, so we welcome them and are looking forward to some rocket building.”
On top of that, Davanti will be running a Consultancy speed dating session for local businesses where business owners can ask for practical advice on communication, websites and strategy.
The Davanti team will also lend a hand with odd jobs around the community, including painting the very long fence along Fenton Road, sewing curtains and gardening.
