Michele A’Court is touring with husband and fellow comedian Jeremy Elwood as part of New Zealand’s Arts of Tour – bringing high-quality performing arts to provincial centres. The reviews from their regional shows have been glowing.

This year, the Ōpōtiki Library has picked up the role of kaitiaki of the Arts of Tour programme with Friday’s performance the first of eight throughout the year.

“The Ōpōtiki community really gets behind these events and we are hoping to bring the same excitement and energy from our Pechakucha to Arts on Tour. There won’t be door sales, so people need to get into the library or get online to buy their ticket asap.

“People who can’t catch this show should have a look on the Facebook page or ask at the library for information about the other shows during the year – there is a fantastic line-up of performances including music, dance, comedy and plays,” said Jo Hunt, Ōpōtiki Library Manager.

And on the request for Anzac slice? While Ms Hunt said that the catering had already been organised for the show’s interval, she certainly wouldn’t complain if any showed up for the library crowd to share (whether or not it is made by someone called Doreen!).
