A European woman came to grief when she crashed her mobility scooter into a steel bollard on her way to The Whakatane District Council last Wednesday. Mrs Woodcock was rapted with 6 Maori teenagers who rushed to her aide, to make sure she was okay after her crash. Lyn Woodcock said sheadmired the way one Maori youth scampered off to the District Council in search of a first aide kit while another youth immediately phoned for the ambulance when they saw she had been slightly injured. The elderly woman is full of praise for the group of Maori youth who stayed with her until she was taken home by ambulance staff.
